Self-assessment of carbon emissions to implement environmental responsibility.
Innovation in water purification technology should go hand in hand with environmental sustainability. Through greenhouse gas (GHG) inventorying, we identify emission sources across our operations and lay a solid foundation for energy conservation and carbon reduction.
In 2023, under the guidance of academic and research institutions, Kemflo independently conducted its 2022 GHG inventory, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions with the Taiwan facility defined as the organizational boundary. Building on the 2022 inventory, Kemflo further expanded the scope in 2023. In addition to continuing the assessment of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, we incorporated Scope 3 for the first time, accounting for carbon emissions related to employee commuting, thereby gaining a more comprehensive understanding of our overall carbon footprint.
These efforts demonstrate our commitment to environmental responsibility and provide a critical foundation for shaping future carbon reduction strategies.
Specific actions for carbon reduction
|
Greenhouse Gas Management |
Establish a complete carbon inventory system and gradually expand the inventory scope to include Scope 1 to Scope 3.(Scope 1、2、3)and set short, medium, and long-term carbon reduction targets to improve the net zero pathway. At the same time, assess the introduction of carbon footprint product certification and internal carbon pricing mechanisms. |
|
Energy Management |
l Continuously optimize process and equipment energy efficiency, for example:In 2024, the entire group updated its facilities, replacing all injection molding machine motors with variable frequency servo motors to reduce energy consumption. l Promote the introduction of low-carbon technologies and the establishment of smart energy monitoring systems. l Prioritize the use of high-efficiency equipment and green manufacturing technologies to reduce energy waste at the source. l Gradually increase the proportion of renewable energy usage, such as solar and wind energy, towards a low-carbon energy transition. |
|
Carbon reduction governance integration |
incorporate carbon management into the corporate governance structure in the future, with senior executives responsible for promoting it, regularly reviewing carbon emission performance and progress towards targets, and Collaborate and integrate with various departments to create a climate governance culture within the organization that is dynamic and adaptable. |

Performance as |
|
Scope One |
Optimize processes to reduce carbon emissions, implement equipment maintenance, and improve equipment efficiency. |
2025 Replacing a gasoline car with a hybrid car each year reduces carbon emissions. |
|
Scope Two |
1. Continuously replacing old and high-energy-consuming equipment 2. Start by saving costs when evaluating the introduction of energy storage equipment. |
1. In 2025, one air compressor will be replaced with a variable-frequency (VFD) model, which is estimated to achieve energy savings of approximately 283,500 kWh per year. 2. In negotiation with the vendor. |
|
Scope Three |
Encourage colleagues to carpool. |
1. Some colleagues have already implemented carpooling. 2. The new office is located in Kaohsiung, reducing carbon emissions caused by transportation from Pintung to Kaohsiung |
